Charles Nicholas - Newborn Portraits | Stillwater, MN Newborn Photographer

Charlie came to the studio with his mom and brother for his newborn portraits. We hoped to not only capture portraits of Charlie but Johnathan in his new role as a big brother. Johnathan was more interested in playing than posing for the camera. Instead we had mom step in to get her picture taken with her new little guy!

Charlie thinks modeling is hard work!

I have known both Charlie's mom and dad since I was in elementary school, if not before, and both of there families. Both Johnathan and Charlie looked like there dad when they were first born but I can't help but think Charlie now looks a lot like his grandpa.
Johnathan is ready to play with his little brother. He can't wait until Charlie can hold the car and race him!
I hope you all enjoy the photos!

Everett - 4 month portraits

Everett couldn't have been a happy little boy during his 4 month portrait session. I can't believe how fast the last 4 months have gone it seems like would should have been getting together for a 1 month photo session. In case you missed his first sessions you can view them here and here and see how much he has grown!

This outfit was his dad's when he was about the same age!
Could he be any cuter than in the overalls and sweet little hat!
I hope you all enjoy the photos!

Wendy & Steve: October 3, 2009

I've known Wendy since our first day of 10th grade. After hours in band and cheering on our high school football team, huddled together on the sidelines to stay warm, we became friends. I was so happy to add her wedding day to the many memories of I have with Wendy.

Ceremony - Trellis Wedding & Events
Reception - Water Street Inn
Hair - Just For Me
DJ - PM Enterprises
Cake - Fresh Fields Bakery
Flowers - Steve's Mom

Steve and Wendy's wedding was on a gorgeous fall day but true to Minnesota, and our colder than normal October, it included sun, wind, and rain. We were fortunate that the rain held off until the ceremony started as everything up to that point was outside without shelter. Everyone just huddled a little bit closer to stay warm!

Enough of me talking, let's get to the photos:

Seeing Wendy in her wedding dress was a very emotional moment for everyone in the room.

Wendy and Steve's first-look. This ended up being a quick moment before we started the family and wedding party photos.

I could have shot the bouquets all day long they were all gorgeous! Steve's mom did all of the wonderful flower arangements. The girls in the wedding party went to her house the day before the wedding to help with their own bouquets. What an awesome way to start the wedding festivities and really add a personalized touch!

With our without texture? I couldn't decide so I posted both, which do you like better? It may be hard to tell because of the size of the images on the blog but the image without texture is on the left and the image with texture is on the right.

The cake was beautiful AND delicious!

Everyone had a good time on the dance floor all night long!

This guy was the envy of everyone, young and old, on the dance floor. He had the all the moves!

This was the second wedding in a row that I got to dance after my time shooting was done. It's a great perk when you know the bride and groom... but usually causes some confusion with the wedding guests. When photographing receptions I find it difficult not to jump in and start dancing!

Wendy and Steve thank you for having me be a part of your wedding day.

Darren: 2010 Stillwater Area High School Senior

I was beginning to think this session would never become a reality. We had planned, in the spring, to take Darren's senior portraits in the peak of fall color. Once the color came to the valley so did the wind, COLD temperatures, rain and even snow! We would talk in the morning only to have it be raining once school was out for the day. A couple weeks ago we decided we would just do the session to make sure there were still leaves on the trees and we could still be outside. We were all pleasantly surprised when it was time for the session and it was warm and even sunny outside.

We began the session at Stillwater Country Club it was the perfect location! Darren is on the Stillwater Golf Team so we started with some practice and on the putting green.
and then tried our hand with synchronized golfing with Darren's boss from the Country Club. Shawn, thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day to get these fun photos!
We put the clubs away and took a cart out on the course looking for locations. The evening sun was perfect everywhere we went on the course!
After our time at the golf course we headed down by the St. Croix River to get some pictures of Darren and his bow.
To our delight the colors at the river were spectacular!! I absolutely love this photo! We worked until we didn't have any light left to shoot i. By the end of the session Darren said he really actually enjoyed getting his senior pictures done, something he hadn't been looking forward too, and was glad I wasn't the crabby old photographer he was expecting! I had to laugh at this comment (most photographers I know don't fit this description) and was also glad his experience was better than he expected!
Thanks for checking my blog. I hope you all enjoyed the photos!
