Caroline {2011 Senior} - Stillwater, MN Senior Photography

I have known Caroline since she was two years old when my family moved into their neighborhood. I'm not sure when she grew up from the little girl that would sit on my foot and cling to my legs so I wouldn't leave their house when visiting and drawing stick figures with the arms coming out of its head to the person waiting to take in and enjoy everyday of their SENIOR year in high school. We got together in Stillwater to document this major milestone.

We had been waiting for a great sunset to use some off camera lighting. The great sunset we waited for never really came that night so I pulled out the lights in the parking lot and we played for a couple of minutes.
Here's to a fantastic year and ease in choosing a college!

Brenden | Twin Cities & Stillwater Newborn Photographer

Brenden was the best baby and let me pose him any way I wanted to. He slept through the session only making a peep when he was hungry. After 2 full bottles it was right to sleep and back to modeling.

Jacob | Twin Cities & River Falls, WI Newborn Photographer

When I arrived at their house for this newborn shoot I was excited to see Jacob's full head of dark hair. Jacob slept right through most of the session and gave me some smiles that I am saving to show his mom and dad!

The Meyer's | Twin Cities & Minneapolis Family Photographer

The Meyer Family has made the more appearances on the blog then any other family I have photographed (Check out their other sessions, here, here, and here). I always look forward to our yearly photoshoots. Shawna always has fun locations and ideas planned for the photos. This year we started at their new house, then went to Gold Medal Park ending in their old neighborhood where Evan's one year portraits were taken (in pre blog days). I love the images we got!

Evan just started preschool the week of the shoot and was excited to show me his backpack.

I think this one would look great large on your wall! Both Chris and Shawna are architects and have an awesome plan for a photo wall in their new house. Can't wait to see it!

This year their aunt and uncle stopped by the park to get a few pictures with the boys as well.
As we were driving back to their house from the downtown locations Chris commented at how interesting it is to see what the new challenge is each year for the shoot. I agree and I'm ready for our next challenge!

The Fox Family | Twin Cities and Bayport Family Photographer

We got together last weekend for their family session. During the session we focused on the kids and especially Bennett for his "just over" 1 year portraits. We had fun playing at the park and by the river.

Ava LOVES her little brother! She smothered him with kisses the whole time we were together.

Emerson | Twin Cities & Stillwater Newborn Photographer

Emerson is the little lady I introduced you to while still in her mom's tummy in yesterday's post. She is such an alert baby we had to hang out for quite awhile for her to fall asleep but it was worth every shot.

Emmy just didn't want to keep her feet tucked into the swaddled blanket. She found a way to stick them out the end every time I wrapped her!

Peace!

Pretty in Pink!
I love baby stats (well anyone who knows me knows I like facts of any kind) so I thought it would be fun to start sharing them at the end of the blog posts.
Emerson (Emmy) 7 days
Weight 7 lbs 12 oz
Length 20 inches
I hope you enjoyed the images I'm sure you will be seeing Emmy around the blog a lot in the coming months (and years).

36 Hours... | Twin Cities Maternity Photographer

Suzanne and I have been friends since 3rd grade and spent most of our time together when we were growing up. I couldn't be more excited for her first baby, a little girl (!), to arrive. I asked Suzanne if she would be up for a maternity session and if she was we would have to plan it quick because she was coming close to hear due date. She responded she probably should and would do it if she still hadn't had the baby by the weekend. Well the weekend arrived and the baby hadn't so we spent the morning (of her due date) shooting this fun maternity session.
Big Sister Sadie!
Little did we know less than 36 hours after the session their little baby girl would make her appearance. Check back tomorrow for her newborn portraits.

Fancy {3 Weeks Old} | Twin Cities Newborn Photographer

Little Miss Josephine came for her photoshoot with heels and pearls most adults would envy. Her photos would have been just as cute even if her accessories had been left at home. We had a great time with Josie!

Kasey Thomas - Newborn Portraits | LaCrosse, WI Newborn Photographer

"As long as I'm home before 9" is the last thing I said when planning my trip LaCrosse with Kasey's mom. I just wanted to make it back somewhat early so I could prepare for work the next morning. That phrase was tested a few times on the day of the photoshoot.

My dad decided to keep me company on the, usually, 3 hour trip down to LaCrosse and more importantly the drive home that would occur later in the evening. Since he was coming along we decided to drive his truck. We got on the road right on time for our 10:30 arrival. We had an hour of the drive under our belts when all of a sudden the truck transformed from sounding like a modern day truck to what I can only image a tractor sounded like in the early 1900's. We pulled to the side of the road and called AAA. They scheduled a tow for us which was slightly delayed because AAA couldn't quite figure out where we were on the highway after we told them our location multiple times. They finally connected us with the local tow truck driver and he knew right where we were. Thankfully, it was starting to get cold in the truck and a little boring after sitting there for an hour!

We were towed about 45 minutes back to Hudson where my aunt met us so we could borrow her car. The dealership is only 7 miles from home but this part of our drive had taken us over 3 hours!!! We were on our way again around noon and arrived in LaCrosse around 3:00 only 5 hours late, not too bad all things considered. When we arrived we unloaded the car and my dad when on a search for a coffee shop with wi-fi. As he left I told him to give me a call if he hadn't heard from me in 1.5-2 hours, just in case our phones weren't working in this new location.

I realized 2.5 hours had passed and I hadn't heard from him. We were close to wrapping up the session so I though I would call so he could head over. I grabbed my phone and realized I had missed numerous calls from my mom and dad and for whatever reason my phone didn't ring. I tried my dad and the phone rang and rang. Then I tried my mom when I hear... you NEED to find your dad he tried to start the car and IT'S NOT STARTING. I thought for sure she was joking but nope it was true. I finally got a hold of my dad who was on the phone with AAA, again! We ended the session then and Kasey's dad drove me back to the coffee shop parking lot where my dad had been sitting during the photoshoot. Turns out they weren't open Sunday afternoons so he just stayed in the car and when he went to turn it on because he was getting chilly...there was nothing. We got jumped quickly and promptly started on our way we didn't want a chance for anything else to go wrong. We pulled into the drive at...8:59! "As long as I'm home before 9".

If you read my long story above thank you and I leave you with adorable photos below! I had to write the story down for people to read because it just too much to believe.

I'm sooo glad we made it to their house for the photoshoot that day. Kasey is adorable and was a great little model.

Who says newborns don't smile?

So sweet!

I hope you all enjoy the photos
