Everett's 1st Birthday | Stillwater, MN and Twin Cities Child Photographer

Happy Birthday Everett! I can't believe it has already been a year since your first two photo sessions. Check them out here and here. I'm so glad that I was able to join you at your grandma's barn and spend the morning playing :)

He loved dancing on the step of the barn!

Time for a cake smash in his great grandma's high chair. E wasn't to sure what to think about the cake he spent a few minutes playing with the frosting before pushing it to the ground.

Thanks again for letting me spend the morning with you. Happy Birthday!

An Apple a Day | Stillwater, MN & Twin Cities Family Photographer

We had a night with perfect light for portraits at Aamodt's Apple Farm. The weather was far from perfect though. We completed the session in between rain and storm clouds that were rolling through the valley. Brenda and I talked a few times during the day to see if the session would be able to happen as planned. We decided would just go for it and if it decided to rain on us we would reschedule. I wasn't so sure the session was going to happen that night especially as I was driving to the orchard and it was raining. When I got of my car to meet them for the session the rain stopped just long enough for us. Once we were back in our vehicles it started to rain again. We were all thankful for the perfect timing we had that night!

I'm glad we decided to take ignore the weather and just go on with the session!

The Meyer's | Twin Cities & Minneapolis Family Photographer

The Meyer Family has made the more appearances on the blog then any other family I have photographed (Check out their other sessions, here, here, and here). I always look forward to our yearly photoshoots. Shawna always has fun locations and ideas planned for the photos. This year we started at their new house, then went to Gold Medal Park ending in their old neighborhood where Evan's one year portraits were taken (in pre blog days). I love the images we got!

Evan just started preschool the week of the shoot and was excited to show me his backpack.

I think this one would look great large on your wall! Both Chris and Shawna are architects and have an awesome plan for a photo wall in their new house. Can't wait to see it!

This year their aunt and uncle stopped by the park to get a few pictures with the boys as well.
As we were driving back to their house from the downtown locations Chris commented at how interesting it is to see what the new challenge is each year for the shoot. I agree and I'm ready for our next challenge!

The Fox Family | Twin Cities and Bayport Family Photographer

We got together last weekend for their family session. During the session we focused on the kids and especially Bennett for his "just over" 1 year portraits. We had fun playing at the park and by the river.

Ava LOVES her little brother! She smothered him with kisses the whole time we were together.

Peter Parker, Spiderman and a Pirate Mummy

If you aren't in the spirit of Halloween quite yet the photos of these cuties should help. These two couldn't be more adorable! Shawna called when they were on there way over for their family portraits and asked if it was alright if the boys changed into their Halloween costumes/outfits after there family session. I was excited with their idea and think we got some super fun and cute portraits!

They even brought over their pumpkins decorated by the one and only Peter Parker (aka Evan). They got there pumpkins at the Minneapolis Farmers Market definitely check it out next year for reasonably priced wonderful pumpkins.

I hope you are all ready to go out and get your costumes on tomorrow! Have a safe and fun Halloween everyone!

Bye Family | Stillwater, MN Portrait Photographer

Two photoshoots, five feedings and one accident on mom make for lots of priceless photos! I was amazed at how much little Everett had changed in just two days he was already starting to get a little chunkier.
This was another photoshoot I had trouble selecting my favorites. I am only posting five here but there are A LOT more waiting to be posted in their online gallery.
The whole family:

I hope you all enjoy the photos!

Evan : 3 Year Portraits

I have been taking pictures of Evan every year since his first birthday (pre-blog days). I can't believe he is already 3! I always look forward to our sessions. Evan is full of energy and is always great in front of the camera. We headed down to the Boomsite in Stillwater for this years session. It was a great for him to play and just be a boy by splashing, stomping in the dirt and his favorite of the day throwing rock in the water. The Thinker; anyone who knows Evan has witnessed his fondness for posing and perfecting facial different facial expressionsWe also spent a lot of time exploring, running and taking pictures in the cave. This is my favorite image of the day!Evan is always full of energy and isn't usually a fan of sitting still for the camera. This is image was taken in the car on our way to get ice cream definitely his favorite part of the day. His family is now a fan of Nelson's Ice Cream Store in Stillwater where there the ice cream cones are the biggest around! This won't be Evan's only appearance on the blog this year. Check back in the early fall for more pictures of Evan and the Meyer family when their new addition arrives. I can't wait for our next session and to meet the new baby!I love comments! As usual please leave a comment below to let us know what you think of the images.
